Description
The Sales & Catering Coordinator helps provide a positive impact on
guest satisfaction and loyalty through delivering excellent
clerical support in the Sales & Catering Department while obtaining
a vast knowledge on hotel facilities and services.
Ideally the candidate must provide a self-starting personality with
an even disposition, maintaining a professional appearance and
manner at all times; while approaching their duties with a sense of
pride, enthusiasm and initiative.
They should be equipped with a strong detail-oriented and time
management work approach needed to timely and accurately compile
data entries, organize files, detail events, while keeping track of
the sales office team members' and event schedules. Candidate must
be an active listener and ensure all communication both written and
verbal is consistent and effectively received by staff and guests
alike in order to interact with clients, process sales leads,
create memos and spreadsheet databases. Therefore, computer
literacy and good typing skill is highly encouraged for Microsoft
programs, email, task manager platforms, and sales software such as
Delphi, Opera, and Micros.
Qualifications
* Answer telephone and email inquiries directed to the Sales and
Catering Department Exercise decision making skills to direct
callers' requests to the appropriate Sales Manager or other hotel
department head. Accurately record messages for staff and
distribute the written messages to the staff members in a timely
manner and prepare correspondence to clientele.
* Take prospect group booking inquiry information via phone or
email, and prepare appropriate lead paperwork. Pass the lead onto
the proper Sales Manager.
* Work with the Sales Managers in scheduling and detailing events;
learning correct procedures and policy for group bookings.
* Become well versed in hotel reservation procedure and policy to
assist customers in group reservation bookings within Delphi and
Opera systems.
* Resolve routine administrative problems and be able to answer
questions pertaining to the Sales & Catering Department for
clients. While also having a light working knowledge of all other
hotel operations; front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and
administration.
* Compete special projects and other assigned responsibilities for
the Sales & Catering Department as well as hotel Administration
office heads.
* Arrange, schedule, and track Sales team members meetings, travel,
property tours, and appointments.
* An Associate degree or higher plus one or more years of office or
equivalent experience. Experience in the hospitality industry or
Sales discipline strongly encouraged.
